Amnesty International Case Sheet on Nirmala Rajasingam

DESCRIPTION
This case sheet was submitted by Amnesty International on behalf of Nirmala Rajasingam in the aftermath of her arrest and imprisonment under Sri Lanka's Prevention of Terrorism Act. This document is important in that it shows the international support that Nirmala Rajasingam was receiving during her incarceration, largely facilitated by her sister, Rajani Thiranagama, and others close to her. It also shows that Nirmala Rajasingam's imprisonment was contested by influential actors in political and legal spheres. This period and its significance is discussed in Nirmala Rajasingam's interview for the Archival Creators Fellowship project on Ilankai Tamil Feminism.
