Oral History Interview with Potu Narasimha Rao



DESCRIPTION
Dr. Potu N. Rao was born in a small village in the Guntur District in Andhra Pradesh in 1930. After completing his school and college, he went to receive his Master's degree from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute. He later moved to U.S. in 1960 to do his PhD in Cytogenetics from the University of Kentucky, Lexington. After working for five years at the Kentucky Medical Center, he moved to Houston in 1971 to further his research and work at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Potu won several awards in cell biology research. Dr. Potu considers Houston to be a vibrant city with many good educational opportunities.
