"Visit Appraised by Coast Leaders"

Article from India Abroad, entitled "Visit Appraised by Coast Leaders" and dated August 13, 1982. Describes Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's visit to Los Angeles, where she met with Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, California Governor Jerry Brown, Dr. Jonas Salk, and other notable figures. Dr. Amarjit Marwah is quoted describing her trip as "fruitful," but most other reactions from Indian-Americans were negative, pointing out the poor organization and rushed nature of the trip.
