India Independence Day
DESCRIPTION
Program for India Independence Day Dinner held in New York on January 26, 1945, and hosted by the India League of America. The guest of honor the dinner was Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit; also in attendance was Sirdar J.J. Singh, Pearl Buck, Lin Yutang, Elsa Maxwell, Francis J. McConnell, and William Shirer. The program contains excerpts from the American Declaration of Independence, the Declaration of Indian Independence, and several resolutions from the Indian National Congress.
