Ik Ongkar Satgur Prasad
My dear father Shri Boota Singh Ji,
My humble Greetings to you. I beg to state that I am O.K. and pray to Waheguru for your well-being all the time. I am sending another Rupees 500 to you. With the Rupees 500 sent last month, I have sent to you a total of Rupees 1000 this year. Please inform me when received. By the time this letter reaches you, I shall send more money. I request you to arrange Jagat Singh’s marriage soon. I shall send plenty of money. Use the money to arrange the marriage. Do not delay the wedding for want of funds. I plan to stay here for fairly long so I can earn plenty of money. So do not wait for me. Just spend as much money as needed and arrange brother, Jagat Singh’s marriage. I shall send another Rupees 1000 in two installments shortly. Do not worry about the money. Whatever I have is at your service. What milch animals do you have in milk these days? Write. Please provide good food and clothes to the boys. I implore. Get the house plastered, as needed. Do not hesitate to spend money for needed repairs. Timely repairs always pay. Please do convey my condolences to Bhai Boota Singh on Naraini’s death. Further, I pray to Waheguru to bless you (saintly father) with long life and I keep on serving you. Greetings for Bhagat Singh and Rulia Singh.
I request you to get heavy gold ornaments that I suggested last time. There is no need for any silver ornaments. But you should feel free to do as you like and as needed. To maintain unity, it is necessary to consult Bibi Ji and Jagat Singh. Please hug and greet bother, Jagat Singh and Rulia Singh, on my behalf. Please get them good clothes and provide them good food. Please do not place any restrictions on their diet. I hope that my siblings are taking good care of you. Please greet Bibi Lachhman Kaur for me. ….?
I pray to Waheguru for your long life.
