Dr. Bhagwan S. Gyanee Chief Minister's Guest House Chandigarh, India January 12, 1960 Dr. Bhagwan S. Gyanee Chief Minister's Guest House Chandigarh, India Dear Dr. Gyanee: Your long letter written on December 25th arrived two or three days ago. I am sorry to hear that your health is still a problem but I hope that it continues to improve and that you will be able to carry on your speaking tour in the colleges of the Punjab without difficulty. I have sent your list of books to the Sather Gate Book Shops, our suppliers in San Francisco, to be filled. The books will be mailed directly to you at the Self Culture Association of India. Regarding your request for funds for some cabins, I regret that we will be unable to give any financial assistance to this project. Having devoted over 17 years and all our resources during that time to helping India and Indians, we have now discontinued this aspect of our program at Goma's express request, in order to do something of benefit to Hawaii, where we have lived for over 40 years and where the Foundation has derived its income. We are planning some living memorials for Goma and we are, therefore, unable to give any financial grants for the construction of buildings. Mrs. Sanger's address is: 65 Sierra Vista Drive Tucson, Arizona Thank you for your offer to be of service to the Foundation, if and when we need it you can be sure we will call upon you. I hope 1960 will be one of the richest and most rewarding years of your life. Sincerely yours, Mrs. G.J. Watumull, Chairman Distribution Committee EJW:ek
