DESCRIPTION
The August 2022 issue of Chayan was produced in advance of Milani Cultural Association's 49th/50th anniversary celebration at Palace of Asia in Kingston, NJ on August 13, 2022. This issue of the association's "little magazine" brought reminiscences of Milani's early days in the 1970s and 1980s, fiction and non-fiction stories about South Asian American life, an account of childhood memories of Durga Puja from India, poetry, and a coloring by its youngest contributor. The content producers, editors, and other workers on the magazine span nine decades. The back cover art was lifted from the back of the Milani 25th anniversary issue of Chayan in 1998 with the permission of the artist, Bibek Das.
