Shamsun Nehar's Cake Designs

DESCRIPTION
Shamsun Nehar created her business Cakes by Lucky in 2014 after taking a cake decorating class, initially as a creative outlet from her day job as an engineer. After encouragement from friends and family, she began decorating and selling cakes with South Asian or desi themes, incorporating designs out of fondant such as saris, dholkis, sherwanis.

Photo 1: This was the first cake she decorated in her class. It was her first cake decorated after learning some piping techniques. It was close to Eid celebration, so she decided to use this cake as a Eid treat for my family and friends. This is a buttercream designed cake with strawberry filling. She has now baked over 500 cakes for all special occasions.

Photo 2: This is a picture of her first wedding cake decorated in 2014 and a recent one from 2019.

Photo 3: This is one of the wedding cake sketches done for a consultation with a groom. Shamsun says even though we may think men are not interested in designing their wedding cakes, it definitely has been changing. It is always a pleasure to work with clients who are open about design ideas.
