Oral History Interview with David Kalal



DESCRIPTION
David Kalal is a painter, animator, and filmmaker living in New York City. Born and raised in New York, David came of age at the beginning of the AIDS crisis in the US. In his oral history, he describes his lived experiences as a South Asian gay man during the 1980s, and how his previous activism experience led him to join South Asian AIDS Action, an advocacy organization that also conducted some HIV education & community outreach with South Asian populations in New York City.
