Letter from J.J. Singh to Senator Tom Stewart



DESCRIPTION
Letter dated September 12, 1944 from J.J. Singh, President of India League of America, to Senator Tom Stewart, Chairman of the Senate Immigration Sub-Committee. Singh requested to testify in front of the committee during their hearings on September 13, 1944 in regards to Bill S. 1595, which if passed would permit Indian nationals to become naturalized U.S. citizens. Singh wrote and enclosed press releases about two public meetings held in support of the bill.
