Letter from Godha Ram Channon to B. Shiva Rao

Letter from Godha Ram Channon to B. Shiva Rao dated July 10, 1948, inquiring about his petition to recover his pension from the British Government Service. Channon chose to resign from government service under the British Raj to fight for Indian freedom. "If I know that the Government of India isn’t going to do anything for me, then I would rather apply for American citizenship," he writes. "Then at least I will be entitled to the old age pension when I reach that stage."
