DESCRIPTION
Flyer for University of California, Berkeley lecture titled “Economic Liberalization - What They Said - What They Did: The Enron Example” by Abhay Mehta. Abhay Mehta authored Power Play, a book about the Enron power project in Maharashtra. In 1994 Mehta filed a lawsuit with CITU (Center for Indian Trade Unions) after the BJP-Shiv Sena state government revived the Enron project. The question central to his lecture was, “Is India’s economic liberalization a boon as India’s Finance Ministers have been claiming or a curse which threatens to mortgage India’s future to greedy multi-nationals?”
