Sir,

I have pleasure in enclosing a letter of introduction from Mr. N.R. Checker of New York. I shall be much obliged for an opportunity to call upon you at your convenience. You may have seen my book, "The Bodhisattva Doctrine in Buddhist Sanskrit Literature" (Kegan Paul, 1932).

I was Boden Sanskrit Scholar at Oxford and studied under Professor A.A. MacDonnell. I have had the pleasure of the personal acquaintance of Professor von Schrodes (Vienna), Prof. Geiger (Erlangen), Professor V. Lanman (Harvard), Professor K.F. Johansson and Prof. Jack Charpentier (Upsala), Profesor Hehmutt von Glasenapp (Konigsberg), Prof. Ryder (Calif) and other scholars. I gave some lectures at the University of California in the Department of Philosophy.

I live in London permanently, but I shall spend this winter in this town. I also hope to return to Philadelphia for the next winter.

With best compliments and with sādareṇa namaskāreṇa,
Yours truly,
Har Dayal
