Request for "Sheikh Mujib Way"
Request for the honorary street name "Sheikh Mujib Way" on Devon Avenue from N. Ravenswood Avenue to N. Damen Avenue, Chicago. The request was made by Sadruddin Noorani to the 50th Ward Aldermanic Office on July 24, 1997, and was to be introduced to City Council on July 29, 1997. Sheikh Mujib was the founder and a Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Stone to Alderman Patrick Huels, who also served as Chairman for the Committee on Transportation and Public Way, regarding the ordinance to honorarily designate a section of West Devon Avenue as "Sheikh Mujib Way." Stone explains that Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, plans to attend the unveiling of the sign.

Report on the Chicago City Council proceedings for September 10, 1997, in which the council passed the ordinance authorizing the Committee of Transportation to honorarily designate a portion of West Devon Avenue as "Sheikh Mujib Way." The recommendation was unanimously passed.
